Job Description
The Investment Officer will manage due‑diligence and investment preparation activities, supporting prospective borrowers through the application process and preparing investment contracts. The role also oversees portfolio management by providing ongoing client service and preparing credit reports for the Investment Committee. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for success.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field
- • Minimum 4+ years experience in investment management, micro‑finance or related lending environment
- • Ability to work legally in Kenya
- • Strong attention to detail, critical‑thinking and negotiation skills
- • Experience with investment management software and financial policy compliance
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Respond to inquiries from prospective borrowers and guide them through application procedures
- • Introduce investment products and explain repayment requirements
- • Conduct investment appraisals and collect detailed borrower information
- • Prepare and execute investment contracts and arrange disbursements
- • Perform due‑diligence site visits and coordinate with Business Development Advisors
- • Compile materials for the Portfolio Manager and assist in credit report preparation
- • Capture entrepreneur stories and photos for the Kiva fundraising platform
- • Provide daily customer service and support for portfolio borrowers
