Job Description
The Assistant Processing Manager oversees daily fish processing operations, ensuring production schedules are met while minimizing waste. They coordinate receiving, gutting, washing, sorting, chilling and dispatch activities, and enforce food safety and quality standards in partnership with the QC department. The role also leads supervisors and line leaders, providing training, performance monitoring and fostering a collaborative work environment. A bachelor’s degree and several years of supervisory experience in food manufacturing are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration or related field (BA/BSc/HND).
- • Five to seven years of experience in senior supervisory or management roles within food processing or manufacturing.
- • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality assurance practices.
- • Proven ability to lead and develop production teams.
- • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and organizational skills.

- • Plan, organize, and monitor daily fish processing activities to meet production schedules.
- • Coordinate receiving, gutting, washing, sorting, chilling and dispatch operations.
- • Optimize resource utilization to reduce product loss and waste.
- • Ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards in collaboration with the Quality Control department.
- • Monitor product quality throughout the processing chain and implement corrective actions.
- • Supervise production supervisors, line leaders, and operators, conducting briefings and assigning tasks.
- • Train staff on processing procedures, food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety.
- • Evaluate employee performance and recommend improvements to boost productivity.
