Job Description
The Regenerative Market Garden Lead will design and implement soil‑health and pest‑management SOPs while overseeing crop planning to align harvests with market demand. The role involves training farm workers, conducting soil testing, and applying non‑chemical pest controls to maintain a regenerative ecosystem. A diploma in agriculture and at least one year of hands‑on farm management experience are required. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential for successful implementation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in agriculture or a related field
- • Minimum 1 year of hands‑on farm management experience
- • Ability to work independently and travel to field sites as needed
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Design and document SOPs for compost, compost teas, animal manures, green manures, cover crops and mulching
- • Plan crop rotations and intercrops that enhance soil health
- • Conduct and interpret soil tests, maintaining simple records of organic matter, structure and inputs
- • Train and supervise farm workers on regenerative practices
- • Write and implement SOPs for pest, disease and weed scouting, thresholds and non‑chemical controls
- • Keep logs of biological or botanical product applications
- • Reduce pest pressure through diversity, timing and field hygiene rather than calendar spraying
