Job Description
The Accountant will prepare financial statements, manage bookkeeping, and ensure compliance with Australian tax and reporting requirements. Responsibilities include processing payroll, handling BAS and GST calculations, and supporting client tax returns while maintaining accurate client records. The role offers training and progression toward managing an independent client portfolio.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) with Second Class Upper Division or higher
- • Completed CPA Intermediate level (advantage)
- • Ability to prepare year‑end financial statements from trial balances, including adjusting journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and balance‑sheet reconciliations
- • Strong academic record throughout studies and CPA exams
- • Typically 0‑2 years of relevant accounting experience

- • Prepare year‑end financial statements, adjusting journals and supporting schedules
- • Perform bookkeeping, bank reconciliations, and maintain accurate accounts
- • Prepare Australian Business Activity Statements (BAS) and GST calculations
- • Process payroll and prepare superannuation reports
- • Assist with individual, company, and trust tax returns
- • Maintain client records using cloud accounting systems
- • Communicate professionally with Australian clients via email and Zoom
- • Manage deadlines, request missing information, and follow up promptly
- • Take ownership of assigned work and progress toward managing your own client portfolio
