Job Description
The AI Solutions Architect will lead the design and implementation of artificial intelligence and data‑driven solutions that empower citizens and governments across Africa. Working at Code for Africa, the architect will translate open‑data initiatives into scalable AI products and guide cross‑functional teams through the development lifecycle.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science or related discipline
- • Minimum 4 years experience designing and deploying AI/ML solutions
- • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks
- • Proven ability to work with large open‑data sets and APIs
- • Excellent problem‑solving, communication and stakeholder management abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Define AI solution architecture aligned with open‑data objectives and user needs
- • Lead prototype development, model training and deployment using Python, TensorFlow or PyTorch
- • Collaborate with data engineers, product managers and policy experts to integrate AI into digital tools
- • Establish best practices for data governance, model monitoring and ethical AI use
- • Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing across the organization
- • Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend strategic adoption
