Job Description
The Business Development Manager will drive revenue growth by creating and executing territory and account plans for security, queue‑management and visitor‑management solutions. Responsibilities include identifying cross‑sell and upsell opportunities, leading tender responses and maintaining strong relationships with senior client decision‑makers. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing or a related field and at least four years of B2B solution‑sales experience, preferably in electronic security or fintech. Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or MBA in Marketing or a related field
- • Minimum 4 years B2B business development or solution‑sales experience
- • Proven track record managing key accounts and closing high‑value deals
- • Experience selling electronic security systems (CCTV, access control, fire detection, intrusion/alarm)
- • Experience with queue‑management, visitor‑management, digital signage or customer‑experience platforms (preferred)
- • Prior experience in IT or fintech sectors
- • Fluency in English and Swahili
- • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel
- • Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Responsibilities
- • Develop and execute territory/account plans to grow revenue across assigned sectors
- • Analyze market trends, competitor activity and client feedback to refine commercial strategy
- • Set and monitor personal and team sales pipelines against monthly and quarterly targets
- • Identify cross‑sell and upsell opportunities across the full solutions portfolio (security, queue management, visitor management)
- • Contribute to pricing strategy and commercial terms in coordination with senior management
- • Lead response to tenders and RFPs, coordinating input from technical and finance teams
- • Serve as primary point of contact for key accounts, ensuring responsive client engagement
- • Conduct regular account reviews with clients to assess satisfaction and identify additional needs
- • Build relationships with senior decision‑makers, consultants and procurement teams
- • Manage escalations and resolve client concerns with technical and support teams
- • Develop account growth plans for top‑tier clients to deepen wallet share
- • Maintain strong understanding of each client’s business context to anticipate future requirements
- • Lead technical and commercial presentations at client sites, tailoring content to stakeholder needs
- • Coordinate with technical/presales team to ensure proposals are accurate, competitive and deliverable
- • Oversee smooth handover from sales to project delivery teams to protect client experience
- • Conduct competitor benchmarking during site visits to refine positioning and pricing
- • Support project kick‑off meetings to align client expectations and delivery scope
- • Troubleshoot and resolve commercial issues arising during project implementation
- • Prepare and present regular sales performance reports and forecasts to senior leadership
- • Maintain accurate CRM/ERP records covering pipeline, activity and account status
- • Represent the company in media, industry panels or press engagements as required
- • Build and maintain relationships with industry bodies, associations and regulatory contacts
- • Provide input into marketing campaigns and collateral based on field insights
- • Mentor and support junior sales staff on deal strategy and client engagement best practices
