Job Description
The Civil & Structural Technician assists in the design, installation, and testing of civil works for solar photovoltaic projects across Kenya. The role involves site surveys, drafting structural layouts, and ensuring compliance with engineering standards. Effective teamwork and technical proficiency are essential for successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering or related field
- • 1–2 years experience in civil/structural work, preferably on solar or renewable energy projects
- • Proficiency in AutoCAD or similar drafting tools
- • Good understanding of construction methods, materials and safety practices
- • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct site surveys and collect data for solar PV civil and structural design
- • Prepare structural drawings and calculations using CAD software
- • Support installation and erection of mounting structures and foundations
- • Perform quality checks and ensure compliance with engineering standards and safety regulations
- • Assist in troubleshooting structural issues during construction and commissioning
- • Maintain project documentation and update progress reports
