Job Description
The Climate and Marine Modelling Assistant provides technical support for climate and marine modelling activities, including data processing, model‑output analysis and preparation of forecast products. They ensure data quality, conduct statistical analyses and contribute to early‑warning services. The role requires strong quantitative skills and familiarity with modelling systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • MBA, MSc or MA in a relevant scientific field, or a professional certificate
- • Minimum 4 years experience in climate or marine modelling
- • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail
- • Ability to quickly learn new scientific methods and technologies
- • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
- French is an advantage
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Process and analyse climate, weather, ocean and wave model outputs
- • Prepare climate and marine forecast products and visualisations
- • Analyse parameters such as rainfall, temperature, wind, sea‑surface temperature, waves and currents
- • Support monitoring and analysis of climate and marine extremes and hazards
- • Automate workflows and prepare information products for climate services and early warning
- • Ensure data quality and maintain documentation of modelling activities
