The Credit Group Manager leads a team of credit analysts to evaluate loan proposals, develop credit policies and monitor portfolio risk for Citi’s operations in Kenya. The role ensures rigorous credit assessment, regulatory compliance and effective risk mitigation while supporting business growth. Strong analytical, leadership and communication skills are required to drive performance and maintain high standards of credit quality.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business or a related discipline
- • Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit analysis, credit risk management or loan underwriting
- • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills
- • Proven leadership experience managing credit teams
- • In‑depth knowledge of banking regulations and credit risk best practices
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities

- • Lead and mentor a team of credit analysts in evaluating loan applications and credit proposals
- • Develop, implement and maintain credit policies, procedures and risk assessment frameworks
- • Monitor the credit portfolio to identify emerging risks and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- • Oversee the approval process for credit facilities and ensure appropriate risk grading
- • Collaborate with business units to support lending initiatives while managing exposure limits
- • Prepare and present credit risk reports to senior management and stakeholders
- • Ensure timely and accurate documentation of credit decisions and audit trails
