Job Description
The Driver provides safe and reliable transportation for staff and program participants, including survivors of trafficking, while adhering to defensive‑driving techniques and safeguarding protocols. Responsibilities include route planning, security awareness, confidentiality of passenger information, and providing guidance on safety measures. The role requires a clean driving record and the ability to work flexible hours in high‑risk environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Valid Kenyan driving licence with a clean record and a Certificate of Good Conduct
- • Demonstrated defensive‑driving experience or certification with a strong safety record
- • In‑depth knowledge of Kenya’s road networks and security dynamics
- • Experience driving in humanitarian or protection‑sensitive settings (preferred)
- • Commitment to safeguarding, confidentiality and ethical standards when working with vulnerable populations
- • Highly disciplined, reliable and punctual with excellent time‑keeping
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Transport staff, program participants and survivors safely between shelters, service providers, courts and other locations
- • Apply defensive‑driving techniques and adjust routes based on security dynamics
- • Uphold safeguarding principles, maintain strict confidentiality of passenger details
- • Monitor high‑risk areas, advise passengers on safety precautions, and respond to potential threats
- • Remain alert to security risks and take evasive actions when necessary
- • Ensure punctuality and professional conduct at all times
