Job Description
The Hardware Sales Executive/Cashier manages sales and customer service for construction and building‑material products, provides expert advice, and handles point‑of‑sale transactions. The role includes promoting new items, upselling, and ensuring accurate cash handling and daily reporting. Additionally, the incumbent monitors inventory, maintains merchandise displays, and supports basic administrative tasks while staying informed of market trends.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree or diploma in any field.
- • Minimum 2 years experience working in a construction hardware store or building materials retail.
- • Strong understanding of construction tools, materials, and hardware products.
- • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities
- • Greet and assist customers in selecting construction tools, building materials, and hardware products.
- • Provide expert advice on usage, suitability, and quality of construction materials such as cement, timber, plumbing, electrical, paint, and tools.
- • Promote new products and suggest upselling or cross‑selling opportunities.
- • Resolve customer queries, complaints, or returns professionally to maintain high satisfaction.
- • Operate the POS system to process sales, refunds, and exchanges accurately.
- • Maintain cash drawer, prepare daily cash reports, and reconcile transactions.
- • Issue receipts and keep sales records up‑to‑date.
- • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering, receiving, and storing inventory.
- • Organize and maintain merchandise displays for easy access.
- • Track slow‑moving or damaged stock and coordinate corrective actions with management.
- • Perform basic administrative tasks such as entering sales data into spreadsheets and reporting daily sales figures.
- • Maintain records of supplier deliveries and invoices.
- • Stay informed of market trends, product specifications, and pricing.
