Job Description
The International Technical Assistance Consultant will lead the design and quality assurance of organisational capacity assessments for population and development institutions across sub‑Saharan Africa. The consultant will develop a standardized methodology, mentor national consultants in Nigeria and DRC and ensure high‑quality implementation of assessment tools. The role requires extensive experience in organisational development and institutional strengthening.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field, with advanced degree preferred
- • At least 10 years experience in organisational development, institutional assessment or consultancy
- • Proven track record of leading large‑scale assessments and delivering technical guidance
- • Strong analytical, writing and stakeholder‑engagement skills
- • Ability to work independently as an individual consultant
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Design a standardized, replicable organisational capacity assessment (OCA) methodology for population institutions
- • Develop assessment tools and guidance documents tailored to political‑economy contexts in DRC and Nigeria
- • Provide technical mentorship and oversight to national consultants during implementation
- • Review and ensure quality of assessment approaches, findings and related deliverables
- • Support the preparation of institutional strengthening recommendations for client institutions
