Job Description
The Lab Director will lead Zuri Health’s laboratory operations, ensuring high‑quality, reliable testing services that support the company’s on‑demand healthcare platform. Responsibilities include overseeing staff, managing workflows, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong scientific expertise and effective leadership to scale laboratory capacity.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Advanced degree (MSc or PhD) in Medical Laboratory Science, Biotechnology or related field
- • Minimum 5 years experience leading a clinical or diagnostic laboratory
- • Strong knowledge of laboratory quality systems, accreditation and regulatory requirements
- • Proven track record in process optimisation and team leadership
- • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities
- • Oversee daily laboratory operations and ensure timely delivery of test results
- • Manage and develop laboratory staff, including hiring, training and performance evaluation
- • Implement and maintain quality management systems and compliance with regulatory standards
- • Optimize laboratory workflows, equipment utilization and turnaround times
- • Coordinate with product and clinical teams to align testing services with platform needs
- • Monitor key performance indicators and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- • Ensure health and safety protocols are followed and laboratory safety standards are upheld
- • Manage laboratory budgets, procurement and vendor relationships
