Job Description
The MEAL Officer implements monitoring, evaluation, accountability and learning activities for donor‑funded projects, ensuring data quality and compliance with reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Data Science, Information Management, Development Studies, Social Sciences or a related field
- • 4–7 years experience in MEAL/M&E, data collection or programme support for donor‑funded projects
- • Demonstrated experience with project‑level monitoring, data collection and reporting
- • Experience using digital data collection tools
- • Good understanding of indicators, logframes and results frameworks
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data quality
- • Basic report‑writing skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Implement the project’s MEAL plan, monitoring framework, logframe and indicator‑tracking system
- • Maintain and update the indicator‑tracking table according to reporting timelines
- • Deploy MEAL tools, templates and digital systems at project level
- • Flag implementation or data gaps to managers promptly
- • Ensure MEAL activities align with work plans and donor requirements
- • Collect, compile and verify monitoring data from field activities and trainings
- • Enter data accurately into the Victim Case Management System and other databases
- • Conduct routine data quality checks, spot checks and verification exercises
- • Clean, organise and maintain project datasets, ensuring consistency with data dictionaries
- • Identify data errors or gaps and work with staff to resolve them
- • Protect sensitive case information in line with data‑protection procedures
