Job Description
The Theatre Nurse provides peri‑operative nursing care within the operating theatre of Metropolitan Hospital. Responsibilities include preparing the surgical suite, assisting the surgical team, and monitoring patients before, during and after procedures. The role demands strict adherence to aseptic techniques and effective teamwork.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and valid registration with the Nursing Council of Kenya
- • Experience in theatre or surgical nursing preferred
- • Strong knowledge of aseptic techniques and patient safety standards
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare operating rooms and ensure all equipment is sterile and functional
- • Assist surgeons and anesthetists during procedures, handling instruments and supplies
- • Monitor patient vital signs and respond to intra‑operative changes
- • Provide post‑operative care and educate patients on recovery instructions
- • Maintain accurate documentation and comply with infection‑control protocols
