Job Description
The Principal Software Engineer will provide technical leadership for the design and delivery of Mastercard’s payment and technology platforms. Responsibilities include defining architecture, guiding development teams, and ensuring solutions meet security and scalability standards. The role also mentors engineers and drives innovation across the product portfolio.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline
- • 8+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in a lead or principal role
- • Deep expertise in Java, C++, or similar languages and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
- • Proven track record of designing scalable, secure payment systems
- • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder‑management abilities
