The Programme Accountant will oversee financial planning, budgeting, and reporting for conservation projects at The Maa Trust, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and accurate allocation of funds. Responsibilities include preparing statements, monitoring expenditures, and supporting audit processes. Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • • Experience in non‑profit or conservation finance preferred
  • • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and donor reporting requirements
  • • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Excel

  • • Prepare and maintain financial statements and reports for conservation programmes
  • • Develop and monitor project budgets, ensuring expenditures align with allocations
  • • Process invoices, payments, and reimbursements in accordance with donor guidelines
  • • Perform regular reconciliations of programme accounts and resolve discrepancies
  • • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • • Ensure compliance with financial policies, tax regulations, and grant conditions
  • • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to programme managers
