Job Description
The Senior Officer, Cyber Secure by Design will lead the development and implementation of security‑by‑design principles across Safaricom’s product portfolio. The role involves conducting risk assessments, defining security architectures, and guiding cross‑functional teams to embed robust security controls. Candidates must have extensive experience in cybersecurity and a strong track record of delivering secure solutions in large‑scale telecom environments.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in cybersecurity, preferably within telecommunications
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related discipline
- • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, OWASP) and secure coding practices
- • Experience with penetration testing, vulnerability management, and security architecture design
- • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder‑management skills

- • Define and enforce security‑by‑design standards for new and existing products
- • Conduct threat modeling, risk assessments, and security reviews throughout the development lifecycle
