Job Description
The Art and Design Teacher delivers curriculum‑aligned instruction to students across primary and secondary levels, fostering creativity and technical skill development. The teacher plans lessons, assesses student work, and organizes exhibitions to showcase artistic achievements. Collaboration with colleagues ensures integration of art across the school’s broader educational program.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Art Education, Fine Arts or a related discipline
- • Teaching certification or licensure recognized in Kenya
- • Experience working with diverse learners in a school setting
- • Strong portfolio demonstrating personal artistic practice
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and deliver engaging art and design lessons aligned with national and international curricula
- • Teach drawing, painting, sculpture, digital media and other visual arts techniques
- • Assess student work, provide constructive feedback and maintain academic records
- • Organise exhibitions, showcases and community projects to display student artwork
- • Mentor and support students in developing their creative portfolios
- • Collaborate with fellow teachers to integrate art concepts into cross‑disciplinary projects
- • Manage classroom resources, materials and studio safety procedures
