Job Description
The Temporary Grants and Sub‑Award Manager leads financial and grants management for sub‑recipients, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and robust internal controls. Responsibilities include budgeting, due‑diligence, monitoring, audit tracking and capacity‑building for partners across Kenya.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in a relevant field
- • Extensive experience in finance, grants management and audit (30 years)
- • Strong analytical, organisational and reporting skills
- • Ability to work remotely and coordinate with multiple stakeholders
- • Proficiency with grant management software and Microsoft Office
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead financial and grants management for sub‑recipients, including budgeting and internal controls
- • Review and develop budgets for proposals, awards and realignments in line with donor guidelines
- • Manage sub‑awards from due‑diligence and negotiation through approvals, payments and close‑out
- • Monitor sub‑recipient finances through reports, invoices and financial monitoring plans
- • Track audits, corrective actions and maintain accurate grant records
- • Provide training and technical support to strengthen sub‑recipient capacity
