Job Description
The Extension & Aggregation Specialist works with smallholder farmers to improve crop sourcing, provide technical guidance, and aggregate produce for market distribution. The role involves conducting field visits, delivering training on best agricultural practices, and collecting data to monitor progress. Collaboration with local partners and reporting to program managers are key components.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Rural Development or related field
- • 2–4 years experience in agricultural extension, crop sourcing or farmer outreach
- • Demonstrated ability to train and mentor smallholder farmers
- • Strong analytical and reporting skills
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data collection tools
- • Fluency in English and local language(s)
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Conduct field visits to farmer groups to assess crop production and provide technical advice
- • Deliver training sessions on improved agronomic practices and post‑harvest handling
- • Aggregate harvested produce and coordinate logistics for market delivery
- • Collect and analyze data on yields, quality and farmer adoption rates
- • Prepare regular reports for program managers and donors
- • Build and maintain relationships with local cooperatives, input suppliers and extension networks
