Job Description
The Chief Accountant will oversee all accounting functions for a manufacturing operation, ensuring accurate financial reporting, cost control, and compliance with IFRS standards. Responsibilities include managing the general ledger, supervising accounts teams, and providing financial analysis to support strategic decisions. The role requires strong leadership and expertise in manufacturing finance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (BA/BSc/HND acceptable)
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting or finance within a manufacturing environment
- • Strong knowledge of IFRS, cost accounting, and financial reporting standards
- • Proven leadership abilities and proficiency in Excel and accounting software
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Maintain the general ledger and ensure timely month‑end and year‑end close within 10 days
- • Prepare IFRS‑compliant financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses
- • Supervise accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and banking reconciliations across multiple business units
- • Lead product costing, stock valuation, and margin analysis for raw materials, WIP, and finished goods
- • Manage cash flow, receivables, and working capital to keep receivables below 60 days
- • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to support business objectives
