Job Description
The Inventory Accountant manages the hospital’s inventory records, reconciles fixed‑asset registers, processes invoices and ensures compliance with IFRS standards, safeguarding assets for Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu. The role also oversees the PPE register and supports accurate financial reporting.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Accounting, Finance or related field
- • Professional accounting certificate (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred
- • Minimum 4 years of experience in inventory or asset accounting
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Manage and maintain accurate records of medical supplies, consumables, property, plant and equipment inventory
- • Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register with the General Ledger, detailing cost, depreciation and net book value
- • Post invoices in the ERP system with correct classification, cost and depreciation rates for capital expenditures
- • Review invoices against supporting documentation to ensure appropriateness and compliance
- • Maintain the inventory subsidiary ledger, general ledger and PPE register in line with IFRS standards
- • Safeguard hospital assets through regular audits and inventory controls
