Job Description
The Cleaning Supervisor leads a team of cleaners to ensure facilities across the site are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Responsibilities include planning daily cleaning schedules, conducting inspections, managing supplies, and addressing client concerns. The role requires at least two years of experience in professional cleaning, with supervisory experience, and a relevant certification. The supervisor also prepares performance reports and supports staff development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • KCSE certificate or equivalent qualification in Cleaning, Housekeeping, Hospitality, Facilities Management, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field
- • Minimum 2 years experience in a professional cleaning company
- • At least 6 months experience supervising cleaning teams
- • Proven ability to coordinate cleaning schedules and conduct quality inspections
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- • Ability to monitor health and safety compliance and handle cleaning chemicals safely

Responsibilities
- • Coordinate and supervise daily cleaning activities across assigned facilities
- • Conduct regular inspections of offices, washrooms, floors, and common areas
- • Identify cleaning gaps or service issues and implement corrective actions
- • Allocate daily duties and ensure adequate staff coverage
- • Monitor staff attendance, punctuality, grooming, conduct, and productivity
- • Train, coach, and guide cleaning staff on procedures, equipment use, and safety
- • Ensure compliance with hygiene standards and occupational health & safety requirements
- • Oversee safe use, storage, and handling of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE
- • Maintain cleaning quality records and report hazards or incidents promptly
- • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies, consumables, and equipment
- • Ensure cleaning equipment is properly maintained, stored, and used efficiently
- • Communicate professionally with clients, site representatives, and facility managers
- • Resolve customer complaints or service concerns in a timely manner
- • Provide regular performance updates to management
- • Prepare daily, weekly, or monthly reports on attendance, activities, and incidents
- • Monitor team performance against service standards and take corrective measures
- • Support management in evaluating staff performance and identifying training needs
