Job Description
The Group Chief Legal Officer serves as the senior legal executive responsible for providing strategic legal advice, overseeing corporate governance and managing the legal team across all business units. The role ensures compliance with applicable laws, mitigates legal risks and represents the organization in high‑level negotiations and disputes.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Law degree (LL.B) and admission to the bar in Nigeria
- • Extensive experience (10+ years) in corporate law and senior legal leadership
- • Proven track record in handling complex commercial transactions and disputes

- • Provide strategic legal counsel to senior management and the board
- • Lead and manage the in‑house legal team
- • Oversee contract drafting, review and negotiation
- • Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
- • Manage litigation, dispute resolution and risk mitigation
- • Advise on corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions
- • Represent the company in legal proceedings and negotiations
