Job Description
The Procurement and Supply Chain Officer at Pearl Hospital manages procurement activities, supplier performance, and inventory control to ensure timely availability of medicines and medical supplies at competitive prices.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND in Business, Supply Chain or related field.
- • Minimum 2 years of procurement or supply‑chain experience in a healthcare setting.
- • High integrity and ability to work independently.
- • Professional certification such as CPSP‑K, CIPS or equivalent is an advantage.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement procurement plans for medicines, equipment and consumables.
- • Source quotations, evaluate vendors and negotiate prices and terms.
- • Procure required items while ensuring quality and cost‑effectiveness.
- • Monitor stock levels, prevent stock‑outs and manage expiries.
- • Maintain an approved supplier register and assess supplier performance.
- • Ensure purchase orders and records are complete, approved and audit‑ready.
- • Collaborate with finance, pharmacy, laboratory and clinical departments.
- • Prepare monthly reports on procurement spend, savings and stock status.
- • Supervise and mentor the Procurement Assistant.
- • Build professional relationships with staff and suppliers.
