Job Description
The Tech Hub Manager will oversee the operation and maintenance of Natural State’s off‑grid technology facility, ensuring reliable data infrastructure and supporting the Makers Lab activities. Responsibilities include managing inventory, procurement, system monitoring, and providing technical assistance to users. The role requires a solid technical background and experience with renewable power systems and IoT devices. The manager will also coordinate training programmes and facilitate collaborations with researchers and partners.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline
- • Experience managing technical facilities, labs, or maker spaces
- • Familiarity with renewable energy systems and off‑grid infrastructure
- • Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Maintain physical and technical infrastructure of the Tech Hub, including servers, solar power systems, and networking equipment
- • Manage inventory, procurement, and scheduling for multiple user groups
- • Implement backup, recovery, and monitoring tools such as Prometheus and Grafana
- • Support virtualization and container platforms (e.g., Proxmox, VMware, Docker)
- • Oversee IoT communication protocols (LoRaWAN, MQTT, CoAP, NB‑IoT) and low‑power device deployments
- • Provide technical assistance for hardware and software prototyping in the Makers Lab
- • Coordinate training, demonstrations, and visitor programmes
- • Ensure compliance with off‑grid power and environmental safety standards
