Job Description

The Ground Cargo/Freight Supervisor oversees cargo loading operations, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards. They manage freight terminal activities, coordinate a freight forwarding office, and conduct quality assurance inspections. The role requires a diploma and 4‑6 years of experience in cargo handling and transport operations.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Diploma in a relevant field such as logistics, shipping, or transportation.
  • • 4–6 years of experience in cargo‑loading, freight terminal operations, or transport.
  • • Knowledge of NAVSEA OP‑2239, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and related U.S. Department of Transportation standards.
  • • Ability to manage transportation documentation, including manifests, bills of lading, and proof of shipment.
  • • Strong communication and leadership skills to manage a multinational workforce.
  • • Detail‑oriented with experience maintaining accurate operational records.
  • • Valid passport with ability to travel internationally and obtain required visas and security clearances.

Responsibilities

  • • Supervise and coordinate cargo‑loading services to ensure accurate and timely loading.
  • • Ensure vehicles transporting ammunition, explosives, dangerous goods, and HAZMAT are properly marked, equipped, and operated in compliance with NAVSEA OP‑2239 and U.S. DOT regulations.
  • • Oversee packing and marking of unclassified retrograde items according to NAVSUP publications.
  • • Maintain proper shipment documentation and retain proof of shipment records for retrograde items.
  • • Manage freight terminal operations, including cargo preparation, consolidation, loading, unloading, and shipment by air, sea, and ground.
  • • Supervise the Freight Forwarding Office to coordinate receipt, storage, and shipment of materials.
  • • Conduct quality‑assurance inspections to verify compliance with safety standards and regulatory guidelines during cargo handling.
