The HVAC Journeyman I installs, services, and repairs residential environmental control systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. The role requires hands‑on expertise with refrigeration, pipefitting, and ductwork, as well as the ability to read technical drawings and work safely with tools and equipment. Strong physical ability and clear communication in English are essential for successful job execution.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in HVAC, Refrigeration, or a related technical field.
- • Journeyman license or equivalent certification.
- • Minimum 2 years of experience installing and servicing HVAC systems.
- • Ability to read, write, and speak English at an intermediate level.
- • Strong physical ability and knowledge of safety and health regulations.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Install, service, and repair residential environmental control systems, including refrigeration, pipefitting, and ductwork.
- • Mount compressors and condensers on platforms or floors following blueprints and engineering specifications.
- • Fabricate, assemble, and install ductwork and chassis components using metalworking and welding tools.
- • Cut, bend, thread, and join tubing to create complete refrigerant circuits, including soldering joints.
- • Install expansion and discharge valves, as well as motors, compressors, temperature and humidity controls, and ventilation fans.
- • Connect control panels to power sources and integrate air and water filtration systems.
- • Perform system testing by charging refrigerant and verifying operation.
