Job Description
The pharmaceutical technologist will ensure safe and effective medication dispensing, manage pharmacy inventory, and support clinical services within a hospital setting. The role requires registration with the Pharmacy and Poisons Board and proficiency in health information systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Degree in Pharmacy or Diploma in Pharmaceutical Technology
- • Minimum 3 years of post‑internship experience, preferably in a hospital pharmacy
- • Valid registration and license from the Pharmacy and Poisons Board
- • Proficiency in computer applications, especially health management information systems
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Dispense prescribed medicines accurately and counsel patients on proper use
- • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, stock control, and expiry monitoring
- • Maintain comprehensive pharmaceutical records using Health Management Information Systems
- • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and the Pharmacy and Poisons Board licensing requirements
- • Collaborate with clinicians and nurses to support optimal patient care
