Job Description
The Biomedical Engineer will ensure the safe and reliable operation of medical equipment by handling installation, inspection, maintenance, calibration and repair. Working closely with clinical teams, the engineer supports patient care through timely equipment servicing and compliance with safety standards. A bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering and at least three years of hospital experience are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering, Medical Engineering or related field
- • Minimum 3 years experience as a Biomedical Engineer in a busy hospital setting
- • Registration with the Association of Medical Engineering of Kenya (AMEK) or equivalent professional body
- • Strong technical troubleshooting, analytical and problem‑solving skills
- • Knowledge of biomedical safety standards and medical device regulations

- • Install, inspect, maintain, calibrate and repair diagnostic, monitoring and therapeutic medical equipment
- • Support clinical teams by ensuring equipment functionality and safety
- • Perform routine preventive maintenance and troubleshoot equipment failures
- • Ensure compliance with biomedical safety standards, infection‑prevention protocols and device regulations
- • Maintain accurate service records and documentation
