Job Description
The Bond Officer ensures full compliance with Kenya Revenue Authority customs regulations by managing bond transactions, preparing accurate documentation and monitoring bond utilization for project imports. Responsibilities include customs entry validation, bond management, reporting and coordination with stakeholders to prevent operational disruptions.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Minimum three to five years experience in customs bond transactions, compliance and documentation
- • Strong working knowledge of KRA systems such as iCMS and Kentrade
- • Familiarity with customs procedures, HS classification and regulatory frameworks
- • Experience preparing and reviewing import declaration forms and related customs entries
- • Ability to monitor bond balances, project consumption and ensure timely provisional entries

Responsibilities
- • Prepare, validate and submit import declaration forms and customs entries in accordance with KRA regulations
- • Verify HS classifications, quantities and values and ensure correct customs regimes are applied
- • Monitor and manage Customs Bonds (CB1/CBA) to maintain continuous coverage of bonded cargo
- • Track bond utilization, project bond consumption and prevent bond exhaustion
- • Conduct pre‑audit checks and post‑audit reviews to ensure accuracy of customs documentation
- • Prepare monthly bond reports, reconciliation statements and consumption projections
- • Coordinate with KRA officials, customs clearance teams and internal stakeholders to resolve issues
- • Maintain up‑to‑date records and documentation for audits and regulatory inspections
