Job Description
Provide expert consultancy to design and implement a comprehensive drone‑based monitoring framework for marine megafauna along Kenya’s coastline. Develop methodology, coordinate with government agencies, NGOs, and local communities, and ensure high‑quality data collection. Deliver technical and financial proposals and produce detailed reports to support long‑term biodiversity observation. Lead the project to strengthen marine conservation and inform blue‑economy initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • At least 10 years experience in marine megafauna monitoring.
- • Demonstrated experience with UAV/drone applications for ecological monitoring.
- • Experience designing long‑term biodiversity monitoring programmes.
- • Strong understanding of marine megafauna ecology in the Western Indian Ocean region.
- • Desirable expertise in remote sensing, GIS, drone operations, marine spatial planning, data management, biodiversity informatics, and community‑based conservation.
