Job Description
An IVF Operating Theatre Nurse will provide specialized nursing support for assisted reproductive procedures in a fertility clinic serving patients in Mombasa. The role includes preparing the theatre, assisting during oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer, and maintaining strict aseptic standards. The nurse also monitors patients before and after procedures and ensures accurate documentation and handover.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Registered Nurse with a valid professional registration
- • Minimum 2 years of nursing or operating‑theatre experience, preferably in IVF, fertility, or gynaecology
- • BLS certification
- • Strong communication and teamwork skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Prepare the operating theatre, equipment, and patients for oocyte retrieval and embryo transfer procedures
- • Assist the physician during IVF procedures, ensuring aseptic technique and patient safety
- • Monitor patients’ vital signs and condition before, during, and after procedures
- • Maintain accurate patient identification, documentation, and specimen handover
- • Support emergency management and post‑procedure recovery care
- • Ensure compliance with infection‑control protocols and laboratory standards
