Job Description
The Network Engineer will design, install, test, and maintain fibre‑optic and enterprise network infrastructure, ensuring projects meet technical specifications, quality standards, and timelines. The role includes supervising installations, configuring network equipment, and producing detailed technical documentation. Strong hands‑on experience with fibre‑optic systems and relevant certifications are required. The position is remote with occasional travel within Kenya.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- • Minimum eight years of practical experience in network engineering and fibre‑optic installations.
- • Professional certification such as Cisco CCNA, MikroTik MTCNA, HPE Aruba, Huawei HCIA‑Datacom, or CompTIA Network+.
- • Willingness to travel to project sites across Kenya.
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Plan, install, terminate, splice, test, and commission fibre‑optic cabling systems.
- • Conduct fibre‑optic testing using OTDR, optical power meters, and light sources.
- • Interpret test results and prepare reports, loss budgets, and as‑built documentation.
- • Identify and resolve fibre‑optic faults, signal losses, and connectivity issues.
- • Supervise indoor and outdoor fibre‑optic installations and site works.
- • Configure network equipment and perform troubleshooting of enterprise networks.
- • Produce technical documentation and maintain project records.
