Job Description
The Planning Engineer creates detailed fibre‑optic network designs, conducts surveys and prepares technical documentation for FTTx, FTTH, backbone and metro projects. The role requires strong analytical skills and proficiency with design and GIS tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunication, Electrical, Geospatial/GIS Engineering or a related field
- • Minimum 3 years experience in fibre‑optic planning and design
- • Hands‑on experience with FTTx/FTTH and GPON technologies
- • Proficiency in AutoCAD and GIS/survey tools such as Google Earth Pro or SW Maps
- • Experience preparing BOMs, BOQs and as‑built documentation
- • Valid driving licence

Responsibilities
- • Conduct physical surveys and assess route conditions to identify optimal fibre routes
- • Develop high‑level and low‑level designs for FTTx, FTTH, backbone and metro networks
- • Prepare bills of materials, BOQs and as‑built documentation
- • Produce network layouts, duct and pole plans, splice diagrams and other design documents
- • Assess route feasibility, risks, wayleaves and infrastructure constraints
- • Collaborate with project and implementation teams to ensure design practicality
