Job Description
The accountant will ensure accurate processing of financial transactions and timely preparation of reports for KCDF and its entities. Responsibilities include managing general ledger, fixed assets, property accounting, and grant‑related financial activities. The role also supports funder reporting, audit preparation, and compliance with IFRS and tax regulations. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential for explaining financial information to non‑finance stakeholders.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • BA/BSc/HND or professional accounting certificate
- • Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience
- • Knowledge of IFRS, grant accounting and audit processes
- • Ability to prepare accurate financial statements and reports
- • Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Process transactions and payments in line with IFRS and internal policies
- • Maintain general ledger, fixed‑asset registers and depreciation schedules
- • Record property income, tenant deposits, arrears and expenses
- • Ensure compliance with tax and regulatory requirements
- • Coordinate with property managers to produce accurate financial statements
- • Manage endowment fund records, investment income and drawdowns
- • Reconcile fund contributions with custodians and service providers
- • Prepare periodic financial reports for management and donors
