Job Description
The Accountant / Finance Officer manages day‑to‑day financial operations for Long Chain Construction Chemicals, including bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, cash management, inventory costing, and tax compliance. The role prepares financial reports, supports payroll, and provides analysis to aid management decisions. Experience in manufacturing or construction chemicals is advantageous.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related field
- • CPA (K) or ACCA qualification, or progress toward certification
- • 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience
- • Experience in manufacturing, construction materials, chemicals, or FMCG sector
- • Proven expertise in inventory management and cost accounting for production environments
- • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax regulations and statutory compliance
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Record daily income, purchases, sales, expenses, and payments, maintaining accurate accounting records
- • Manage the general ledger, journal entries, and supporting financial documents
- • Prepare monthly financial reports and management accounts
- • Handle accounts receivable, follow up on customer payments, and reconcile customer balances
- • Process supplier invoices, execute payments, and perform supplier reconciliations
- • Reconcile bank accounts, manage petty cash, M‑Pay, and monitor cash flow
- • Maintain inventory accounting for raw materials, work‑in‑process, and finished goods
- reconcile physical stock with ERP records
- • Perform product costing, gross margin analysis, and variance analysis between actual and standard costs
- • Prepare VAT, PAYE, WHT, and other statutory tax filings and ensure compliance with KRA requirements
- • Process monthly payroll, verify salaries, overtime, bonuses, and statutory deductions
- • Generate and distribute sales, collection, expense, inventory, product costing, gross profit, cash flow, and receivable reports for management review
