Job Description
The successful advocate will provide high‑quality litigation and dispute‑resolution services to the firm’s clients in Nairobi. Responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and court documents, representing clients in hearings, managing case files and supervising junior staff. Candidates must be a High Court advocate with at least two years post‑admission experience and a valid practising certificate for 2026. Strong analytical, advocacy and client‑communication skills are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Advocate of the High Court of Kenya in good standing.
- • Minimum of 2 years post‑admission experience.
- • Valid practising certificate for the year 2026.
- • Demonstrated litigation and dispute‑resolution experience, including details of three significant matters handled.
- • Strong skills in legal research, drafting pleadings, affidavits, applications, submissions, legal opinions and advocacy.
- • Practical experience in court attendance, hearings, case management and alternative dispute resolution.
- • Provide two referees (one academic, one professional).
- • Available to commence on 2 November 2026 in Nairobi.

Responsibilities
- • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare well‑reasoned legal opinions and advice on contentious matters.
- • Draft and file pleadings, affidavits, applications, submissions and other court documents accurately and within prescribed timelines.
- • Appear and represent clients in court, including hearings, mentions, applications and case conferences.
- • Manage cases actively, including case management, diarising deadlines, and preparing witnesses and bundles.
- • Participate in negotiations, mediation, arbitration and other alternative dispute resolution processes as required.
- • Take instructions, advise clients and keep them updated on progress and strategy.
- • Maintain organized, complete and up‑to‑date case files and records.
- • Collaborate with partners, fellow advocates and support staff, and supervise junior team members when needed.
