The Air Logistics Perishable Operational Care Specialist ensures accurate processing and documentation of air freight shipments, focusing on perishable cargo. Responsibilities include handling master and house airway bills, verifying documentation, and coordinating with airlines to resolve issues. The role requires strong attention to detail, bilingual communication skills and proficiency with logistics automation tools.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in clearing and forwarding or a related field
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in the clearing & forwarding or logistics industry
- • Fluency in English and Kiswahili
- • Computer literacy and experience with logistics software such as Salog, Kaplog and BPA tools
- • Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines and maintain high quality documentation
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Process master airway bills (MAWBs) and ensure timely handover of breakdowns
- • Verify accuracy of shipping documents and reconcile with weight dockets
- • Perform e‑filing of documents and maintain organized filing systems
- • Ensure each shipment has a linked house airway bill (HAWB) and close MAWBs before cut‑off times
- • Act as primary contact for airlines, handling calls and resolving issues during the shift
- • Manage operational tasks using Business Process Automation tools and capture correct tariffs on air waybills
- • Monitor shipment status and coordinate document dispatch to flights
- • Identify and report any discrepancies to supervisors promptly
