Job Description
The Art Teacher delivers engaging and inclusive art lessons to students of varying ages and abilities, fostering creativity and technical skill development. Responsibilities include planning progressive curricula, assessing student work, organizing exhibitions, and maintaining art materials and safety standards. Collaboration with the head of department and colleagues ensures high teaching standards and a vibrant creative environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Art, Fine Arts, or related discipline
- • Relevant teaching experience or student‑teaching placement preferred
- • Strong knowledge of art techniques, materials, and classroom management

- • Plan progressive curricula that develop creativity, technical skills, and confidence
- • Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback
- • Organize and contribute to displays, exhibitions, and school creative activities
- • Collaborate with the Head of Department and colleagues to maintain teaching standards
- • Manage and maintain art materials, tools, equipment, and safe learning spaces
- • Supervise support staff assisting with art classes
- • Support health and safety, behaviour management, and pupil welfare in the art studio
