Job Description
The Assistant Chaplain provides holistic spiritual care, pastoral counseling and worship leadership to patients, families, staff and volunteers within the hospital environment. Responsibilities include offering comfort during grief or crisis, coordinating faith‑based programs, and ensuring chaplaincy services meet ethical and professional standards. The role also mentors volunteer chaplains and supports interdisciplinary collaboration.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND)
- • Minimum 2 years experience in pastoral or chaplaincy role
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Provide spiritual nourishment, prayer and pastoral care to patients, staff, relatives and visitors in outpatient and inpatient settings
- • Offer comfort and consolation during grief, bereavement, trauma and crisis, including home visits
- • Deliver pastoral counseling and mentoring to individuals and groups
- • Facilitate discipleship, Bible study and faith‑based programmes addressing ethics, values, substance abuse and life challenges
- • Plan, coordinate and lead prayers, worship services and chapel activities across the hospital
- • Ensure chaplaincy services adhere to ethical, professional and hospital standards
