Job Description
The Associate Dean oversees the undergraduate medical education programme, directing curriculum development, academic governance and student welfare. They lead strategic planning, mentor faculty and ensure quality of teaching and assessment. The role requires strong leadership and communication skills within a university health‑science environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma and MBA/MSc/MA in education, health sciences or a related discipline
- • Minimum 5 years of experience in higher‑education administration or medical education
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- • Demonstrated ability to lead curriculum development and academic governance
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Lead operational and strategic planning of undergraduate medical programmes
- • Provide curriculum leadership, academic governance and calendar development
- • Oversee programme delivery and ensure high‑quality teaching and learning
- • Participate in Faculty of Health Sciences strategic planning activities
- • Supervise and mentor faculty members in educational leadership roles
- • Support recruitment of educational leaders and manage performance reviews
- • Conduct quality review and continuous improvement of curricula and assessments
- • Ensure student welfare and address academic concerns
- • Coordinate with the Office of the Dean on recruitment and stakeholder engagement
- • Foster collaboration across departments to enhance programme outcomes
