Job Description
The Automotive Body Technician is responsible for delivering high‑quality vehicle body repairs, from dent removal to full panel replacements, while adhering to industry standards and safety protocols. The role includes preparing accurate repair estimates, managing parts requisition, and maintaining workshop tools and cleanliness. Participation in 5S and safety initiatives ensures an efficient work environment.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Diploma in Automotive Engineering or related field
- • KCSE grade C‑ or higher
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in automotive body repair
- • Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence
- • Ability to work effectively within a team and maintain customer‑centric mindset
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Perform vehicle body repairs, including panel beating, fitting, and accident damage restoration
- • Conduct dent removal, surface preparation, color mixing, spray painting, polishing, and buffing
- • Execute specialized tasks such as chassis jigging
- • Prepare accurate repair estimates and obtain approval from team leaders
- • Requisition and follow up on parts, sublet services, and consumables
- • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment and maintain a safe workshop
- • Maintain and calibrate workshop tools and special service tools
- • Participate in daily 5S activities, waste segregation, and general housekeeping
