Job Description
The Bid, Tender & Business Development Officer is responsible for identifying and managing tender opportunities across public and private sectors, preparing high‑quality proposals, and supporting business development initiatives. The role involves coordinating with internal teams, conducting market and competitor research, and maintaining a comprehensive tender database. It also includes developing pipelines of potential clients and partnerships, and ensuring timely, compliant submissions. Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills are essential.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business, ICT, Procurement, Marketing, Communications, or Project Management
- • Proven ability to conduct thorough research and analysis
- • Excellent attention to detail and ability to identify missing information and compliance issues
- • Strong organizational and time‑management skills with ability to handle multiple deadlines
- • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with project‑management tools such as Trello, Asana, or ClickUp
- • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and follow through with minimal supervision

Responsibilities
- • Source, evaluate, and track tender opportunities from government, NGOs, donors, and private sector platforms
- • Review tender documents, identify key requirements, and determine eligibility and submission criteria
- • Coordinate and manage the entire tender process from opportunity identification to final submission
- • Prepare, write, edit, and compile technical and financial proposals with internal teams
- • Develop clear, professional, compliant, and visually appealing proposal documents
- • Prepare tender submission checklists and ensure inclusion of all mandatory and compliance documents
- • Manage tender deadlines and ensure accurate, on‑time submissions
- • Maintain and update a database of tender opportunities, templates, company documents, CVs, certifications, and compliance records
- • Coordinate with technical, finance, management, and other teams to gather required information for proposals
- • Conduct client, industry, competitor, and project background research to support proposal development
- • Identify and research potential clients, business opportunities, partnerships, and new markets beyond formal tenders
- • Develop and maintain a pipeline of leads and business opportunities
- • Support preparation of company profiles, capability statements, presentations, proposals, and other business development materials
- • Assist in developing strategies for approaching potential clients and converting opportunities
- • Conduct market and competitor research to identify emerging opportunities and growth areas
- • Maintain accurate records of leads, opportunities, proposals, and business development activities
- • Support follow‑ups with potential clients and partners
- • Contribute ideas and recommendations to support revenue growth and business expansion
- • Manage bid and business development tasks, timelines, and workflows using Trello or other project‑management tools
- • Ensure all activities are tracked and deadlines are closely monitored
- • Develop and maintain efficient systems for organizing tender and business development documents
- • Work independently while providing regular updates on opportunities, progress, challenges, and upcoming deadlines
