Job Description
The Bilingual Real Estate Translator provides English‑Chinese interpretation and translation for all real‑estate business activities, ensuring accurate and culturally appropriate communication. Responsibilities include translating contracts, market reports and client documents, as well as proofreading and maintaining a standardized terminology database. The role supports cross‑cultural negotiations and helps the team close deals efficiently. Candidates must be resident in Kenya and possess professional experience in the local real‑estate sector.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Permanent resident of Kenya with the ability to work full‑time on a stable schedule
- • Native‑level fluency in English and Chinese, both oral and written
- • Proven experience translating for the Kenyan real‑estate industry
- • Familiarity with local transaction processes, terminology, market prices and business rules
- • Strong sense of responsibility, confidentiality and meticulous work attitude
- • Ability to handle emergency translation requests and adapt to complex scenarios
- • Basic computer and office software proficiency

Responsibilities
- • Deliver real‑time oral interpretation and written translation for client negotiations, property viewings and meetings
- • Translate and standardize real‑estate documents such as contracts, market research reports and policy papers
- • Proofread translated content to ensure compliance with Kenyan real‑estate norms and business etiquette
- • Coordinate with the team to resolve language‑related issues throughout project cycles
- • Maintain and update a bilingual terminology archive and translation standards
- • Support cross‑cultural communication between Chinese and Kenyan stakeholders to improve negotiation efficiency
- • Manage document sorting, archiving and regular review of translation files
