Job Description
The Business Development Manager strengthens icipe’s fundraising and partnership efforts by identifying, assessing and securing funding opportunities. The role provides strategic and technical support to scientists and programme teams, advises on proposal strategies and mentors staff involved in resource mobilisation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) or equivalent
- • Minimum 15 years progressive experience in proposal development, business development or programme/project management
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify, assess and prioritize business development and funding opportunities
- • Analyse donor calls, funding priorities and institutional capabilities
- • Advise management and scientists on positioning icipe’s expertise in proposals
- • Recommend proposal strategies, partnership approaches and donor positioning
- • Resolve complex proposal development issues through stakeholder consultation
- • Provide technical guidance and leadership to scientists and programme teams
- • Mentor and support staff engaged in resource mobilisation and proposal writing
