Job Description
The Business Development Officer will expand the corporate client base for insurance solutions by identifying prospects, presenting tailored policies, and negotiating terms with underwriters. Responsibilities include managing the full policy placement process, maintaining strong client relationships, and conducting market research to drive growth. The role requires a proven track record in sales, strong analytical abilities, and a professional qualification in business or insurance.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Finance, or related field
- • 5–10 years experience in business development, corporate sales, or underwriting
- • Professional certification in insurance or related discipline is advantageous
- • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding commercial targets
- • Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
Required Skills
Responsibilities
- • Identify, target, and acquire new corporate, commercial, and institutional clients
- • Structure and present tailored insurance proposals, including credit protection and performance bonds
- • Negotiate underwriting terms, policy conditions, and premium structures with insurers
- • Manage client relationships throughout onboarding and policy lifecycle
- • Conduct market research and stay updated on regulatory changes
- • Achieve commercial targets and report sales performance to management
