Job Description
The Business Development Officer will expand membership and deposit growth for a SACCO by executing marketing strategies and forging partnerships. Responsibilities include developing annual plans, promoting products, managing digital channels, and conducting market research. Strong communication in English and Kiswahili and analytical abilities are required.
Qualifications & Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree, HND, Diploma, MBA/MSc/MA, or professional certificate in a relevant field.
- • Minimum 4 years of experience in marketing, sales, or business development.
- • Proven ability to develop and execute marketing plans and manage budgets.
- • Strong communication and presentation skills in English and Kiswahili.
- • Demonstrated customer‑focus, analytical, and reporting capabilities.
- • Ability to lead teams, train others, and travel to member stations as needed.

Responsibilities
- • Develop and implement the annual marketing and business development plan and budget aligned with the strategic plan.
- • Identify new market segments, employer groups, and partnerships to grow membership and the deposit base.
- • Promote SACCO products (savings, loans, Premier Savers, etc.) through campaigns, member forums, events, and digital channels.
- • Manage the SACCO’s brand, website, social media content, and member communication materials.
- • Conduct market research and competitor analysis, recommending new initiatives to enhance growth.
- • Lead customer service initiatives to improve member satisfaction and retention.
