Job Description

The Business Development Officer will create and execute growth strategies to expand the company’s market presence across industrial and engineering sectors. They will identify new opportunities, manage the full sales cycle, and cultivate strong relationships with key decision‑makers. The role also involves preparing proposals, negotiating contracts, and driving revenue through cross‑selling and account development.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • • Bachelor’s degree (BA/BSc/HND) in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related technical field
  • • Ten to fifteen years of experience in technical sales, business development, or engineering solutions
  • • Proven track record of winning new business and meeting sales targets
  • • Strong technical understanding and ability to engage both technical and non‑technical decision‑makers
  • • Demonstrated experience in B2B business development and key account management
  • • Experience with tendering, quotations, negotiations, and commercial proposals
  • • Excellent negotiation, presentation, communication, and relationship‑management skills
  • • Strong commercial awareness, analytical ability, and business acumen
  • • Ability to work independently, manage a sales pipeline, and deliver measurable results
  • • Willingness to travel for client meetings, site visits, and business development activities
  • • Valid driving licence

Responsibilities

  • • Develop and execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and market expansion goals
  • • Identify, develop, and convert new business opportunities across industrial, engineering, manufacturing, construction, and commercial sectors
  • • Build and maintain relationships with key clients, procurement teams, engineers, contractors, consultants, and other stakeholders
  • • Manage the complete sales cycle from lead generation to proposal, negotiation, closing, and client onboarding
  • • Analyse client technical and commercial requirements and collaborate with internal teams to design appropriate engineering solutions
  • • Pursue tenders, RFQs, projects, contracts, and partnerships to generate sustainable revenue
  • • Maintain a robust sales pipeline with consistent follow‑up, forecasting, and conversion of qualified prospects
  • • Grow existing client accounts through cross‑selling, upselling, and strategic account management
